History:
The church is located next to Englefield House and park. There is no record of a church in the Domesday book of 1086, but records show a church by the later part of the 12th Century. William Englefield granted the advowson to Reading Abbey between 1173 and 1180. The Nave dates from 1190 and some parts of the church are 13th Century but the church was extensively rebuilt in the 19th Century around 1857.
